“Easy Rider” is what travellers in Vietnam call a motorbike trip with a local guide who does the riding. The name goes back to Dalat’s motorbike guides in the 1990s, who started taking visitors around the Central Highlands on the back of their bikes. Today it covers everything from a day around Dalat to a week up the Ho Chi Minh Road.
It suits you if you want the road trip without the riding: no licence, no traffic to read, no route to find. You get the passes, the coffee farms and the villages at motorbike pace, and someone who knows where to stop for lunch.

What is an Easy Rider tour?
A motorbike trip where you sit on the back of a local guide-rider's bike. Your guide does the riding, knows the roads and where to stop, and your beds for each night are part of the trip. The name goes back to Dalat's motorbike guides in the 1990s, who began taking travellers around the Highlands this way.
Do I need a driving licence for an Easy Rider tour?
No. On every multi-day journey you ride behind your guide-rider, so you do not need a licence or an International Driving Permit. If you would rather ride yourself, look at our one-way rentals — those need a 1968-convention International Driving Permit with the motorcycle category, plus your home licence.
How much does an Easy Rider tour cost?
$75 per person per day: 2 days = $150 (Dalat to Nha Trang, Nha Trang to Dalat, Dalat to Mui Ne — Mountains to Dunes); 4 days = $300 (Central Highlands Loop, Dalat to Saigon — Coastal Route); 6 days = $450 (Dalat to Hoi An — Ho Chi Minh Road). That covers your guide-rider and motorbike, fuel, hotels or homestays, entrance fees, and a helmet, raincoat and waterproof bag. Meals and drinks are not included.
What should I bring?
Pack light: one small bag, which goes in the waterproof bag we provide. Bring cash for meals and drinks along the way.
Can I do the trip the other way, from Nha Trang or Mui Ne up to Dalat?
Yes. The Nha Trang ride runs in both directions: our Nha Trang to Dalat tour picks you up at your hotel in Nha Trang and climbs into the highlands over two days, same price. For other coastal starts such as Mui Ne, tell us your dates and we will confirm whether we can arrange it.
